Pheroze is certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in Civil Litigation. Associations include: Law Society of Upper Canada, The Advocates’ Society and Hamilton Lawyers Association.
Pheroze has dedicated his professional career to representing individuals and small companies. Pheroze has focused his practice on personal injury with a special interest in medical malpractice litigation.
Pheroze has represented his clients’ interests with Applications to the Supreme Court of Canada, and appearances before the Federal Court of Canada, The Ontario Superior Court and Ontario Court of Appeal. Pheroze has acted as counsel in matters in Ontario, New Brunswick and Manitoba. Pheroze is particularly proud of his representation of the family of an autistic boy through 136 days of trial in the landmark case Deskin v HMQ. (Indexed as Wynberg v HMQ).
Stanley M. Tick
Q.C. and Certified Specialist (Civil Litigation)
Mr. Tick has practiced civil tort insurance and commercial litigation for over 50 years, representing plaintiffs and defendants, as well as general, life, health, and property insurers. Mr. Tick was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1981, and was certified in 1988 by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a Specialist in Civil Litigation.
Mr. Tick has lectured to many groups over the past 30 years, including, amongst others, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Advocates’ Society, and Insight, as well as to a number of insurance company claims departments and other legal and medical groups.
In 2008, Mr. Tick was named in the Canadian Legal Expert (Lexpert) Directory as a leading practitioner. The previous year, Mr. Tick was named by the National Post as the best personal injury lawyer, as well as the best legal malpractice lawyer. In 2011 Mr. Tick was awarded the prestigious Lincoln Alexander Award.
